Fleetguard Cookeville Receives Tennessee Commissioner's Safety Excellence Award For One Million Hours Without A Lost Workday
COOKEVILLE, Tenn.--Oct. 2, 20042, 2004--Fleetguard Inc., the global filtration, exhaust, coolant and chemical specialist for diesel and gas powered equipment, received the prestigious Commissioner's Safety Excellence Award from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development during a special presentation in Cookeville on Thursday, October 21, 2004. The award recognizes Fleetguard's Cookeville facility for its major safety milestone achieved on August 23, 2004 when employees reached more than one million hours of work without a single lost workday injury. The one million mark reflects the most consecutive hours ever worked in the Cookeville plant without a lost workday case.The Commissioner's Safety Excellence Award honors Tennessee employers and employees, who together achieve the required hours worked without experiencing a lost workday case and maintain total injury and illness incidence rates below the national average. Each year, only a small number of facilities in Tennessee meet the criteria for this award.
Corporate dignitaries attending Thursday's ceremony included Tim Solso, CEO of Cummins Inc., the parent company of Fleetguard; Rick Mills, President of Fleetguard Inc. and Vice President of Cummins Inc.; and Pamela Carter, Vice President of Filtration for Fleetguard Inc. Attending from the State of Tennessee were Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley; John Winkler, Administrator Tennessee OSHA; and Jim Flanagan, VPP Manager - TOSHA.
Fleetguard Cookeville Plant Manager Frank Westbrook accepted the Commissioner's Safety Excellence Award on behalf of the facility.
