i2 Optimal Scheduler has been selected as a finalist in the Information Technology and Services category. Optimal Scheduler is the core solution architecture underlying three key i2 solutions: i2 Sequencer, i2 Master Scheduler and i2 Configuration Order Promising. This solution suite is designed to help companies to optimize schedules and sequences for automotive vehicle assembly lines and to provide order matching, swapping, substitution and promising directly against the scheduled and sequenced orders. These solutions can enable the creation of a detailed model of the vehicle assembly environment, accept inputs such as production constraints and customer orders and then create schedules and sequences based on optimization techniques while adhering to key business constraints. The i2 Optimal Scheduler solution architecture can also be used to deliver solutions to business challenges such as planning production of tires, scheduling of job shops, and enterprise level project and resource planning.

"It is an honor for i2 solutions to be selected once again as a finalist for this prestigious award," said Tom Meredith, i2 senior vice president, Automotive and Industrial. "This solution is a key enabler of our customers' strategic efforts to reduce order-to-delivery lead-times, create a more customer-focused supply chain and move more towards build-to-order fulfillment.
