OSRAM Opto Semiconductors to Co-Chair Light Emitting Diode 2004 Conference; Company to Highlight Advancements in LEDs Display Applications

SAN DIEGO--Oct. 1, 20048, 2004--OSRAM Opto Semiconductors again highlights its position as a top developer of lighting and display technology by participating as a co-chair at this year's Intertech Light Emitting Diodes (LED) 2004 Conference in San Diego, California. LED 2004 is one of the premiere forums to bring together leading developers and executives from the traditional lighting community, including high-brightness LED (HB LED) manufacturers, component and equipment suppliers, lighting designers and major end-users, to discuss the latest opportunities and advancements in HB LED technology, solid state lighting and handheld electronic applications. The technical conference takes place from October 20 - 22, 2004 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Klaus Streubel, manager of research and development for OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, GmbH will co-chair the conference and will additionally present during the "LED and Emerging Technologies" session on Friday, October 22nd at 9:05 a.m.

As a sponsor of the event, OSRAM will also participate with several of its own LED demonstrations, including channel letter, automotive rear combination lamp, backlighting for liquid crystal display (LCD) and headlamp technologies.
