Delphi Recognizes NEC Electronics With Commendation Awards
Excellence in Quality and Customer Service Earns NEC Electronics Consecutive Awards From Delphi
DETROIT, CONVERGENCE 2004, Oct. 18 -- NEC Electronics Corporation today announced that Delphi Corp. has awarded NEC Electronics its Commendation Award for excellence in quality and consistent delivery of microcontroller (MCU) products. This award represents the second consecutive year that NEC Electronics has received the quality Commendation Award from Delphi, a world leader in mobile electronics and transportation components and systems technology. For the past six years, NEC Electronics has supplied Delphi's Electronics & Safety division with MCUs for its automotive systems, including controllers for audio, radio/telematic, body control, safety/security and dashboard control applications. NEC Electronics is the only major semiconductor supplier to have received this award over two consecutive years.
"Delphi's overall goal is to achieve perfect product quality, which means zero defects, and this award is our way of recognizing those suppliers who are willing and able to strive for this goal as well," said John Glass, Director, Supplier Quality, Delphi Electronics & Safety. "NEC Electronics' high-quality performance and worldwide support have exceeded our expectations. We are honored to present NEC Electronics with this award and look forward to continuing to work with the company in the future."
To provide value-added services to its automotive industry customers, NEC Electronics takes a "total-quality" approach to all elements of the business relationship: from customer service to the custom design and manufacturing of the product and then to final delivery and product performance. Instrumental in the total-quality approach delivered to Delphi were the manufacturing services and support provided by NEC Electronics America's plant in Roseville, California, and other worldwide NEC Electronics manufacturing plants that contributed to the company's winning of this award.
"During the past three years, NEC Electronics has been increasing its focus on the automotive market requirements," said Minoru Matsuda, General Manager, Automotive Systems Division, NEC Electronics Corporation. "NEC Electronics adheres to a total system approach to quality and is committed to providing superior products and worldwide customer support. This award is a result of our ongoing efforts and success in this area."
