dSPACE Exhibits Innovations in Electronic Technology
DETROIT, Oct. 18, 2004 -- Innovations in electronics technology for engineering development processes are being demonstrated at Convergence 2004, October 18-20, by dSPACE, a German-based high-technology company with its North American operations in Novi, Michigan.
A market leader and innovator in solutions and systems for development of embedded electronic controllers, dSPACE provides hardware, software and engineering support services for controller testing, prototyping control algorithms, automatic production code generation and controller calibration. Product exhibits shown at dSPACE's Booth #1101 include:
* ECU Function Prototyping with the dSPACE MicroAutoBox(TM) - a real-time in-vehicle hardware platform that performs fast, functional prototyping of control algorithms. The demonstration showcases bypass technology for integrating new functions into existing ECUs.
* Target Implementation with dSPACE TargetLink(TM) - a highly efficient production code generation software tool. This tool provides the ability to generate production-quality C code directly from Simulink models, which can then be integrated for a production ECU. This increases productivity and reduces the overall software development cycle. TargetLink can generate code for multi-rate models, with support for OSEK real-time operating systems. In addition to highly efficient ANSI C code, TargetLink generates further optimized code for a variety of microcontroller and compiler combinations. TargetLink features a data dictionary to manage variables allowing design, software and calibration engineers to share information for seamless workflow through the development and testing of code.
* ECU Testing with the dSPACE Mid-Size Virtual Vehicle Simulator - an innovative approach to testing entire vehicle ECU networks by combining Engine, Transmission, and Vehicle Dynamics simulators. In addition to the networked Simulator, dSPACE will also display its latest offering in the HIL computation platform and its next generation HIL I/O board, capable of supporting dual voltage systems up to 60 Volts.
* ECU Calibration with the dSPACE Calibration System - a new solution for the optimization of ECU parameters for both in-vehicle and test bed calibration. In modern development processes, the calibration and measurement of ECU parameters is rapidly moving away from the end of the development process and toward its earlier phases. The intelligent concept of the dSPACE Calibration System enables the performance of calibration and measurement tasks throughout all development stages. This single solution supports simultaneous bypass and calibration applications through dSPACE's XCP Generic Memory Emulator and Generic Serial Interfaces.
"dSPACE provides an optimal mix of standard solutions and customer- specific engineering," said Kevin Kott, president of dSPACE, Inc. "We help mechatronic system manufacturers shorten software development time while improving system reliability with real-time systems for controller prototyping, automatic production-code generation, virtual system tests, and ECU calibration."
