Shanghai Auto Parts & Equip Exhibition to Open Shortly

SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 15, 2004 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- 'The 5th Auto Parts & Equip Shanghai' will be held from October 19th to 22nd, 2004 at INTEX Shanghai. The exhibition is sponsored by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai (''CCTPIT Shanghai'') and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China (''SAE-China''), and is jointly organized by the Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Germany's IMG Fair & Exhibition GmbH (''IMAG''). The China Machinery Industry Federation has also given great support to the exhibition.

The event is one of the earliest and most recognized auto parts exhibitions to be held in Shanghai. A 6,000 square meter area will be made available to showcase various auto parts, components, tires, video/audio devices, testing and maintenance equipment, service kits and related technologies. More than 200 companies from China, Germany, France, America, Japan, Korea, Italy, the UK, India, Taiwan and the Hong Kong SAR are expected to present. In addition, Jiuzhou Auto Exhibition Co., Ltd. and the exhibition department under the Electronic and Electrical Society of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers will also participate in the exhibition.

The most cutting-edge advances will include Japanese Denso engine products, NGK's pistons, Texas Instruments auto sensors, Ningbo's S&T tire pressure monitoring systems, and Link Electronics GPS auto cruise systems. In addition, famous tire brands such as Michelin, Grandour and Toyo will also make presentations. A section has been specially designated for the exhibition to facilitate the international auto manufacturers in purchasing parts and components. Asia-Pacific Purchase Center of Visteon Corp. and Siemens' SVHZ are invited to test the parts and components they wish to buy, aiming to link the parts manufacturers with the international vehicle producers.

China's entry into WTO, coupled with 2008 Olympic Games and 2010 World Expo' Shanghai, has contributed to the rapid growth of China's auto industry.

The current session of the exhibition will benefit from Shanghai's leading economic position and its spin-off effect in the neighboring areas, and present a full profile of the latest domestic, as well as international, advances in auto parts production. Moreover, technical exchange forums will be held to provide a platform of information exchange and to identify opportunities for the industry.
