GMAC/Trenton Forging #5 GTO Pre Race Report – Laguna Seca Monterey, Calif. – October 14, 2004 The GMAC/Trenton Forging #5 GTO, driven by Stu Hayner will make its final run of the 2004 season this weekend at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. The race is round 10 of the SPEED World Challenge Series and will run in conjunction with the American Lemans Series’ Monterey Sports Car Championships. The SPEED World Challenge GT race will run Sunday, October 17 and will air live on PEE at 4pm EST. “We’re basically putting the car on the track with no major adjustments,” commented Crew Chief, Rob Wanamaker. “Our focus now is next year. We’ve learned a lot about the car and we’re very much aware of the changes that need to be made. Needless-to-say, they’re not trackside changes.” “It might be a bit optimistic to say we’ve accomplished all of our goals,” continued Wanamaker, “but we really have made great inroads with the program. We’ll wrap up this race and the season then go home and get to work. We’ve already started with a lot of the planning and engineering work for the off-season and the experience and knowledge we gained this season is already paying off. We’re going to see some exciting changes for 2005.” Team owner David Moxlow added, “we’ve had some hard fought battles this season. While we’d have preferred that they were battles on the track, we learned from them just the same. We’re extremely fortunate to have a hard working crew and a great driver. Developing a new program is very trying on everyone’s patience, but these guys were just great.” “As Rob said,” continued Moxlow, “we’re planning some major changes for 2005 and we’ll be making some significant announcements in the next few weeks. We’re enthusiastic about our program and very excited to participate in the SPEED World Challenge Series. We’ve said all along that this is the most competitive road racing series in America. That beleif continues to grow. We’re looking forward to 2005.” GMAC Commercial Finance, considered a leader in its segment of the financial services market, provides accounts receivable management and financing, asset-based lending, equipment finance/leasing, retail financing, structured financing, and supply chain management services to a wide variety of clients in diverse industries.
