AIAG Names Plawecki Acting Executive Director

DETROIT, Oct. 14, 2004 -- The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) announced that Linda Plawecki has been named acting executive director for the association. Plawecki replaces Andrew J. Cummins, who has left AIAG to pursue other opportunities.

One of three loaned executives from the Detroit Big Three automakers to AIAG, Plawecki, an executive with Ford Motor Co., previously held the position of AIAG executive director from 2002 until 2003. AIAG's board of directors has initiated a comprehensive search for a permanent replacement to head up the association.

AIAG provides a unique forum for automakers, suppliers and service providers to interface and collaboratively develop commonized business processes, guidelines and standards that address the challenges and issues of the global supply chain.

Founded in 1982, AIAG is headquartered in the metro Detroit area. Its more than 1,600 member companies include North American, European and Asia- Pacific OEMs and suppliers to the automotive industry with combined annual revenue of more than $850 billion. A not-for-profit association, AIAG's primary goals are to reduce cost and complexity within the automotive supply chain and to improve speed-to-market, product quality, employee health-and- safety and the environment.
