BorgWarner Brings Lower Emissions, Reduced NVH, Enhanced Performance and Better Fuel Economy to DCX HEMI

CHICAGO, Oct. 14, 2004 -- BorgWarner supplies the engine chain timing system and the solenoid exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve to the popular DaimlerChrysler 5.7-liter HEMI engine.

Production of the 5.7-liter HEMI began in 2002 at the DaimlerChrysler engine plant in Saltillo, Mexico. The HEMI name refers to the top of the engine's combustion chamber, which is shaped like a hemisphere. The engine is expected to power additional vehicles, including a 2005 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 and the 2006 Dodge Charger.
