Amicus Welcomes Jaguar Pay Vote
LONDON, October 14 -- Amicus, the trade union for manufacturing, today welcomed the acceptance by Jaguar workers of its recommendation of the company's pay offer in ballot results announced today. Workers at the company's West Midlands plant voted by 74% and at their Halewood plant by 69% to accept an offer of 3.3% this year and a further minimum 3% for next year.
Tony Murphy, the Amicus National Officer for Motor Vehicles, welcomed the news saying
"I am pleased that the membership have accepted the Amicus recommendation of what was a fair pay offer in the current circumstances. We look forward to working with Jaguar in maintaining future car production at all three of the Jaguar sites."
