Changes Made to No. 40 Coors Light Team
Tony Glover Named Interim Crew Chief
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 12, 2004) --- Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix
Sabates announced today that team manager Tony Glover will act as
interim crew chief on the #40 Coors Light Dodge starting this weekend at
Lowe's Motor Speedway, while Lee McCall has accepted a new shop-based
crew chief position in the organization.
"Our team is about performance and the No. 40 team hasn't regained its
championship-caliber form of just two years ago," car owner Chip Ganassi
said. "Sometimes in any sport, you need to change things up in order to
re-energize the team and this is one of those times."
"We have made some other changes as well to try and help the performance
of the team for the remainder of the 2004 season," Ganassi added. "Tony
and Sterling have been working together for a long time and hopefully
they can get this team back on track. I guess we want to try and put
the band back together."
Glover was the team manager of Team SABCO racing teams when Ganassi
partnered with Felix Sabates in 2000. Together with Andy Graves, Glover
continued his role as a team manager for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix
Sabates. Since Glover's affiliation with CGRwFS, the teams have had
five wins, five poles, 32 top-fives and 62 top-10s. This is the
Kingsport, Tenn. native's seventh season with the team and his 10th
season partnered with driver Sterling Marlin.
