Cummins Power Generation to Host U.S. Interior Secretary Gale Norton and Senator Norm Coleman Wednesday, Oct. 13

FRIDLEY, Minn.--Oct. 12, 2004--Cummins Power Generation, a division of Cummins Inc., will host U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton and U.S. Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN) at its Fridley headquarters and manufacturing facility Wednesday morning.

Norton and Coleman will meet with Cummins officials, including Chief Executive Officer Tim Solso and Bob Sonntag - Vice President, Worldwide Power Generation Operations for Cummins.

The visit will showcase Cummins Power Generation business, headquartered in Fridley and some of the energy solutions the Company's products provide on public lands and elsewhere. Norton and Coleman also will tour the Cummins Power Generation production facility where Onan generators are made and see a demonstration that highlights the Company's success in cutting emissions and reducing noise in its RV generators.

During the visit, Cummins will present five Onan generators to be used to aid the hurricane recovery efforts in Florida at several federal, state and local parks and other public lands. The clean-up effort, which will be launched Oct. 23, 2004 in conjunction with national Make a Difference Day, is part of a nationwide program called Take Pride in America recently relaunched by the Department of the Interior.

Cummins would like to invite the media to join Secretary Norton and Senator Coleman as they tour the Fridley facility, which employs about 1,400 people and where more than 100,000 generators will be made this year.
