ZAP CEO Outlines New Energy Division
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 12, 2004 -- In an interview with online investment forum www.WallSt.net Steve Schneider, Chief Executive Officer for ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) talked about recent developments with the Company as well as outlining ZAP's new Energy Division.
ZAP announced the interview with WallSt.Net following news yesterday that ZAP has taken an equity position in Zibo Enterprises Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of advanced battery technology in The People's Republic of China. In September, ZAP unveiled ZAP Portable Energy(TM) a lithium-ion battery system developed in conjunction with Zibo Enterprises. ZAP Portable Energy is designed to extend the running time for various low-powered electronic devices like cell phones, digital cameras and handheld computers. ZAP and Zibo are currently in discussions on future products related to the development of advanced batteries designed for larger formats. Schneider says that mobile electronics are pushing the technology envelope for innovations in advanced batteries and that the technology available in larger formats can power electric cars on a level comparable to today's internal combustion automobiles.
ZAP CEO Steve Schneider's automotive career spans more than 20 years experience in varying roles including that of owner, partner, sales representative, business manager, creditor, and adjustor. Schneider is also the founder of Voltage Vehicles, a full-service fuel vehicle distributor specializing in the full spectrum of electric vehicles and full-performance alternative fuel vehicles. He founded Auto Distributors, Inc., the promotion and distribution arm of Voltage Vehicles dealerships. He sits on the Advisory Board of Directors to Apollo Energy Systems, in the business of developing and manufacturing fuel cell technology and propulsion systems. He is an active member of the Low-Speed Vehicle subcommittee in Washington D.C. Schneider has received extensive education and training in sales and marketing, banking, insurance, and automotive training.
