Ghosn to hire more female sales staff at Nissan
TOKYO October 10, 2004; Japan Today reported that Nissan Motor Co President Carlos Ghosn on Friday pledged to raise the ratio of female sales staff at the company to more than 10% in two to three years from the current 5% in a bid to meet customer demand.
In a speech at Japan Women's University, Ghosn said many customers indicate they prefer to be served by female sales staff when they purchase vehicles. The president also expressed his intention to expand recruitment of women to fill other positions such as engineers. (Kyodo News)
