Apogee Enterprises Raises Quarterly Cash Dividend 4 Percent to $0.0625 Per Share

MINNEAPOLIS--Oct. 8, 2004--The Board of Directors of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. announced it has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.0625 per share, payable November 10, 2004 to shareholders of record October 27, 2004. The dividend of $0.0625 per share represents an increase of 4 percent from the previous quarterly dividend of $0.06 per share. This marks the 28th year of dividend growth since Apogee began paying dividends in 1974. The company has approximately 27.3 million shares outstanding.

"We continue to focus on growth strategies and operational improvements, and recently announced we are investing in new architectural glass fabrication capacity."
