Stremme Dodge Ready for First Start at Kansas Speedway
Stremme, TRIMSPA X32 Dodge Ready for First Start at Kansas Speedway
Kansas City, KS (October 6, 2004) – When David Stremme takes the green flag
for the Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway this Saturday, it will be his
first race ever at the 1.5-mile tri-oval. Driving at a NASCAR racetrack for the
first time is nothing new to Stremme. He has visited 10 new tracks while
driving the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge in 2004, despite having 18 starts in 2003 which
was enough to claim Rookie of the Year honors. Kansas Speedway is currently the
last track on the Busch circuit where Stremme has no experience. Stremme has
already posted three top10’s, including one top five, at tracks where he has
made his first start this season.
“I can say that I have raced them all after this weekend,” said Stremme,
driver of the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “Next year, when we run at Watkins Glen and
Mexico, I will not have raced at those places either, but I will in the same
boat as the other drivers. I am just focused on getting a solid finish this
weekend for the TRIMSPA Team. We ran okay at Dover last week but normally we are
better than that. Having an off weekend gives you extra time to think about
it. I am glad we will be racing every week from here on out.”
Competing at every Busch track is just one milestone in Stremme’s transition
into a veteran of the series. Just last weekend Stremme passed the million
dollar mark in Busch career earnings. Part of that success helped Stremme to
become a team owner in the ASA Late Model Series for his younger brother Bobby
Stremme, who just this past weekend claimed the championship and rookie of
the year honors in the same season.
“I could not be more proud of my brother and his performance in the ASA Late
Model Series,” said Stremme. “I have had a lot of fun as a team owner
watching my brother develop as a smart, consistent, winning driver. My mother and
father are the same way, tough competitors and track champions. Racing is
just a part of our family.”
Stremme and Team TRIMSPA will travel to Kansas Speedway this Thursday in
preparation for competing in the Mr. Goodcents 300 Saturday, October 9th. The
event will be televised live at 2 p.m. eastern time on TNT and will broadcast
nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with MRN and XM
Satellite Radio Channel 144.
