Continental Teves' Silao, Mexico Plant Named 'Best Exporter Plant' by State of Guanajuato
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 5, 2004 -- Continental Teves' Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico plant has been named the Best Exporter Plant - Large Manufacturing Plants by the State of Guanajuato. Continental Teves is a unit of Continental AG and a leading supplier of automotive safety systems.
The award was presented recently to representatives from the Silao plant, during a formal ceremony attended by the exporters community in Guanajuato. The Governor of the State of Guanajuato, Juan Carlos Romero Hicks, presented the award. The award was based on Continental's 100% customer delivery performance, high customer responsiveness and logistical effectiveness, as well as an outstanding quality record.

The Silao facility employs 500 people who manufacture and export wheel speed sensors directly to Continental's OEM customers, for use in electronic brake systems. Wheel speed sensors are the basis for state-of-the-art electronic brake system applications including electronic stability control (ESC), an active vehicle safety technology designed to help save lives and prevent injuries by helping keep vehicles on the road.
