PRELIMINARY HEARING FOR TRUDY
AND MICKEY THOMPSON MURDERS
TO BEGIN ON TRUDY'S BIRTHDAY
PASADENA, CA., Los Angeles County Superior Court--
Next Monday, should have been, and would have been, a typically wonderful family birthday party for the Mickey Thompson family, if only, evil killers had not stolen those happy times early in the morning of March 16, 1988. Monday, Oct. 4th would have been Trudy Thompson's 58th birthday. Sadly, auto racing legend Mickey Thompson and his wife Trudy were murdered as they were leaving their Bradbury, CA home about 6:00 a.m. on their way to work.
Mickey Thompson's sister, Collene Campbell, former Mayor of San Juan Capistrano said, "With the important Preliminary Hearing for Mickey and Trudy's murder beginning on her special day, we can't help but feel that both Trudy and Mickey will be looking down to help guide the path to long over-due justice for their murders."
Michael F. Goodwin (DOB 2-4-45), long suspected for the murders, was arrested for the double homicide, December 13, 2001, nearly fourteen years after the killings. Many defense motions and a change of jurisdiction from Orange County to Los Angeles has slowed the trial process.
The Preliminary Hearing for the accused killer, Michael Goodwin, is scheduled to begin Monday, October 4 in the Pasadena Superior Court, before Judge Teri Schwartz (5th floor, Dept. E).
FYI:
