Hyundai Sets New Record for September 2004 Sales
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 1, 2004 -- Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 35,023 vehicles for the month of September, setting a new record for the month and making it the best September sales month in the company's history. Retail sales posted a 13 percent increase over September 2003 and were led by the award-winning Santa Fe SUV, which posted a 47 percent increase in retail sales from the previous year.
"We are extremely pleased to have the best September sales month in our history, especially considering the numerous challenges Mother Nature threw at the Southeast," said Ed Bradley, vice president, National Sales. "We are also excited about October when we launch the all-new 2005 Hyundai Tucson SUV. The Tucson's incredible level of standard features and safety equipment make it an outstanding value in the entry-level SUV segment. When you combine the new Tucson with the sales strength of the award-winning Santa Fe, Hyundai dealers can offer an SUV for any customer's needs," he added.
The popular Hyundai Sonata, which received the award as Highest Quality Entry Level Midsize Car in the J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Initial Quality Study (IQS), also helped Hyundai to have their best-ever September sales, posting a 34 percent increase in retail sales over September 2003.
All Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty.
