WHAT: Six-time Tour de France Champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong is pedaling for a new victory—this one in the fight against cancer. He is joining 20 other cyclists – all of whom have been touched by cancer –this week in the Bristol-Myers Squibb Tour of Hope™, a cross-country journey which begins at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles at midnight this Thursday and ends in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 9.

The team of 20 cyclists will inspire and inform the public about cancer clinical trials and cancer research, and the need to work together as a country to help speed the search for a cancer cure. Fans will sign Tour of Hope Promises, personal commitments to lead a healthy life and learn more about cancer and cancer research.

Lance and Tour of Hope Team members will continue across the country this week making stops at:  
 
·	Monday, Oct. 4 - Denver, CO – The University of Colorado Cancer Center, Aurora, CO, outdoor health festival and community rally.
·	Wednesday, Oct. 6 - Chicago IL – The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive, Cancer Center of Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, Cancer Research Center, outdoor health festival and community rally at Block 37 on State Street.
·	Oct. 8 - Pittsburgh, PA – The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and West Penn Allegheny Health Systems, health festival and community rally at PNC Park.
·	Oct. 9 – Washington, DC – Grand finale celebration and health festival on The Ellipse.
