TechnoCom Corp., the leading provider of wireless location Operations Support System (OSS) and Business Support System (BSS) solutions, and Venezuela-based Grupo SECUSAT announced today the formation of a joint venture between the two companies. The new alliance will operate as Secusat International (SI).
SI provides hosted, end-to-end private labeled wireless location fleet management, stolen vehicle recovery, security and risk mitigation service solutions for wireless operators, insurance firms and security companies across Latin America.
Concurrent with its launch, SI also announced it has deployed its first system for Timetrac, a subsidiary of Telcel Venezuela, one of the largest CDMA operators in Latin America. As exclusive supplier, SI has delivered a complete and hosted fleet management and security solution across Telcel's entire national footprint. This is the first end-to-end CDMA2000 1X fleet management location service offered directly by a carrier in Latin America.
SI incorporates TechnoCom's VeoLocation(TM) platform and Grupo SECUSAT's in-country installation, marketing, sales, training, monitoring, stolen vehicle recovery and 24x7 customer support services. Combined, the two companies have created unmatched capability. VeoLocation offers a scalable, hosted, web-based solution to minimize operational and installation complexities, allowing operators to quickly offer location-based, revenue-generating services under their own brand names. Its mapping technology features a high performance, real-time mapping engine, report generator, and intuitive monitoring interface for managing fleet and consumer location solutions. A wide range of GPS (Global Positioning System) location mobile device options are available with VeoLocation, and can be configured across all wireless networks, including CDMA2000 1X, GSM/GPRS and iDEN(TM) networks. The in-vehicle devices support over-the-air programming, a sophisticated on-board alerting engine and assured data delivery.
