KleenAir Systems Announces Large Van Order for Its SCR System
IRVINE, Calif.--Sept. 28, 2004--KleenAir Systems Inc. (OTCBB:KAIR) announced that a significant order for almost 700 systems has been received by its European systems Integrator, Dinex Exhaust Ltd. KleenAir's NOxMaster(TM) NOx Reduction System (SCR), including Diesel Particulate Filter, will be installed by Dinex on new vehicles being purchased by a major U.K. local authority. This effectively launches the company into the OEM marketplace. The systems have been approved by a major European auto manufacturer for dealer-fit as an option on new vehicles. Under this program, a vehicle purchaser can choose the emissions package as an option and it is then fitted on to the vehicle by the dealer before delivery. Installation is expected to commence later this year on receipt of funding by the authority.
"This order represents a major step forward in the commercialization of the KleenAir SCR technology," said Lionel Simons, president, "and the major OEM approval recognizes the viability of the system together with confidence in the maintenance and support infrastructure."
Local authorities, as well as many large corporations maintain substantial fleets in the United Kingdom of medium size delivery vehicles, known as "white vans." Over 2 million are currently registered, and new vehicles exceed 100,000 per annum.
