TROY, Mich., Sept. 28 -- Delphi Corp. today announced the expansion of its Delphi Mobile Video product line by introducing the DVDM-1020, an overhead, rear-seat entertainment system, featuring a new 10.2-inch widescreen with an integrated DVD player.

"Delphi is a world leader in providing in-vehicle entertainment products and is now becoming well known for providing these products to consumers," said Francisco A. (Frank) Ordonez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and vice president, Delphi Corporation.

In addition to DVDs, the system is also capable of playing VCDs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs and MP3 formatted CDs to satisfy the entertainment needs of today's rear-seat passengers. The DVDM-1020 with its sleek design, small footprint and low profile -- comes standard with two wireless headphones, anti-shock system, auto dimming and a flip up/down damper mechanism that allows smooth release of the monitor panel to the user's pre-set angle. In addition, the integrated DVD player has last position memory function.

"Consumer adoption of rear-seat entertainment systems continues to show promising growth," said Joseph A. Damato, director, consumer electronics, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. "Our new 10-inch Mobile Video system is a great example of how Delphi can leverage its original equipment expertise to create products that offer the latest technology in a design that thoughtfully integrates into the vehicle and is simple to use."

Available in gray and neutral colors, the Delphi DVDM-1020 has two infrared sensors for convenient remote control access, as well as back auxiliary external input jacks to connect compatible A/V electronics for multiple entertainment options. For additional audio options, the built-in wireless FM transmitter can be used to transmit the system's audio to the vehicle's radio.

The unit has soft touch paint for a high-class exterior and soft touch buttons for quiet operation and features one internal input as well as a separate A/V box with two inputs and one output. The 10.2-inch Mobile Video monitor comes in a kit that includes 2 sets of IR wireless headphones, remote control, batteries, A/V connection box and a complete installation kit with mounting brackets, power cable, A/V cable, screws and spacers.
