Goodyear's Savings Bond Program Benefits Veterans Foundation

AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 27 -- The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is again extending assistance to American veterans through a U.S. Savings Bond promotional program, as part of its "Goodyear American Dream Tire Sale," which runs through October 9.

With the purchase of selected Goodyear tires, consumers will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Proceeds from select tire purchases will go directly to Veterans Foundation Inc. (VFI), a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the men and women who have made tremendous sacrifices to protect America's freedom.

As a way to connect with Americans across the country, VFI's annual project, the nationally televised American Veterans Awards, was created to raise awareness in support of veterans, active duty service members, and military families.

"We couldn't be happier to be a part of Goodyear's U.S. Savings Bond program, which sends a message across America that there is a company out there working hard to improve the stature of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving his or her country," said Harry Shaw, president and CEO of VFI.

"Goodyear is pleased to offer a program that benefits veterans, their families and the tire purchaser," said Larry Mason, Goodyear's president, consumer tires. "Working with the Veterans Foundation, Goodyear is backing this promotion with network cable TV and network radio."
