Stremme, TRIMSPA X32 Dodge Comes Home 16th in Dover

Dover, DE (September 26, 2004) – Team TRIMSPA driver David Stremme qualified
11th and posted a solid 16th-place finish in the NASCAR Busch Series Race at
Dover International Speedway on Saturday. The finish was a personal best for
Stremme at Dover, a track where he has had bad luck at in his three previous
starts.

“I really like racing at Dover but we had a tough race today,” said Stremme,
driver of the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “The guys did a great job in the pits but we
never quite got a handle on the car. Our first set of tires was extremely
loose. We made adjustments off of that first green flag run, and in the end I
think that hurt us because the next two sets were totally different.”

From the drop of the green Stremme’s Dodge was loose entering the turns and
tight on exit. By the first stop on lap 74, Stremme had slipped twelve spots
and one lap to the 23rd position. But when a caution came out on lap 92, Stremme
had battled his way up two spots into the “Lucky Dog” position. Back on the
lead lap, Stremme pitted on lap 106 under the fourth caution of the day. Team
TRIMSPA placed a spring rubber in the right rear to mend a tight handling
condition.

“We apparently had a tire going down just before that second stop,” said
Stremme. “I think that caused us to go the wrong direction on our adjustments.”

During the final green flag run Stremme mounted a charge to the front despite
the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge continuing to be tight on exit. When the checkers fell
on lap 200, Stremme was in 16th position. The finish raised him one spot to
13th in the NASCAR Busch Series driver points.

“We will take that for a bad day at the track,” said Stremme. “Finishing
16th, raising a spot in the points, and coming home with the car intact is not
too bad. I know we missed the setup, but making something out of nothing is what
we need to do some weekends to get back in the top 10 in points.”

Stremme and Team TRIMSPA will enjoy an off weekend before heading to Kansas
Speedway to compete in the Mr. Goodcents 300 Saturday, October 9th. The event
will be televised live at 2 p.m. eastern time on TNT and will broadcast
nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with MRN and XM Satellite
Radio Channel 144.
