Lance Armstrong and His Car Tricked (Out) by Sheryl Crow and the Crew From TLC's OVERHAULIN'
- Hosts Chris Jacobs and Courtney Hansen Prank the World Famous Cyclist While Design Guru Chip Foose Leads Garage Team in Overhauling Armstrong's Pontiac -
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 22 -- Six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong knows wheels. But in addition to cycles, the world-renowned athlete and cancer survivor also has a love of speed, including the car that girlfriend and award-winning musician Sheryl Crow gave him for winning the most recent Tour de France in July. But he hardly recognized the 1970 Pontiac GTO after TLC's OVERHAULIN' presented him the keys after a weeklong ordeal where he thought his car was stolen.

Scheduled to air on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at 9 p.m., the special hour- long episode of OVERHAULIN' takes viewers through the process of tricking Lance and tricking out his GTO. The OVERHAULIN' accomplice: Sheryl Crow. Crow helped hosts Chris Jacobs and Courtney Hansen and automobile designer Chip Foose with the details of Lance's hectic schedule and training regime, connecting the team with Lance's circle of friends and sharing her ideas for the dream renovation of his car. How will Lance react when his girlfriend's gift goes missing? With frustration or anger? Or calm and cool? Will Chris and Courtney's pranks drive him over the edge? What are Chip's plans for the body, interior and wheels? How will he match Lance's perfectionism with a perfect customization of his car?
During the filming, an anxious Sheryl said, "This is really going to blow him away ... He's going to have a cow!"
The overwhelmed Lance, after seeing his overhauled car, said, "This is one of the most amazing cars I've ever seen!"
OVERHAULIN' is the TLC series that tricks the owner while tricking out the car. Co-hosts Chris Jacobs and Courtney Hansen double as repo men, tow truck drivers and other pranksters to lure the keys away from the unsuspecting car owner, while auto designing legend Chip Foose and his crack team of fabricators and engineers perform surgery on the vehicle. With the help of an accomplice (the owner's father, son, girlfriend or co-worker, for example), the OVERHAULIN' team finds a creative way to separate the car from its owner -- whether through a fake impound, photo shoot, or other means. The OVERHAULIN' cameras follow the twists and turns of the parallel process of both keeping the car away from its (sometimes surly!) owner -- and the creative ways Chris and Courtney manage to do it -- while following the renovation process of the vehicle. Will they love their new dream machine?
OVERHAULIN' is produced by BCII for TLC. The executive producer for BCII is Bud Brutsman. Matthew Gould is TLC's executive producer for OVERHAULIN'.
