Ford Reverses Pay Cut Decision

LONDON, September 22 --

Amicus union has succesfully reversed plans by 'Ford Flight', Ford's employee travel service, to force staff to take a cut in pay by threatening to outsource the operation.

Staff right across Ford are currently paid double time for working Sunday nights. The company had approached staff working for Ford Flight demanding that they take a cut in overtime rates. The company maintained that if the staff refused they would outsource the work to a third party.

Staff working for the company received a tremendous amount of support from their fellow colleagues across Ford UK, who had raised their concerns about the proposed changes.

John Hellyer, Amicus South East & Eastern Regional Secretary said; "This is a great result for staff working for Ford Flight. The Staff started the week knowing that it's back to business as usual."
