News from the United Steelworkers of America: USWA to Rally Against Bridgestone/Firestone's Refusal to Commit to Quality American Manufacturing in Contract Talks

    --  WHO: Approximately 25 United Steelworkers of America (USWA)
        members employed by Bridgestone/ Firestone (BFS) from plants
        across the country.

    --  WHAT: Rally and informational picket.

    --  WHEN: 8 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2004. The rally will
        last for approximately one hour.

    --  WHERE: The John S. Knight Conference Center, 77 Mill Street,
        Akron Ohio. (On the sidewalk in front of the main entrance on
        Mill Street.)

    --  WHY: To highlight Bridgestone/Firestone's refusal to negotiate
        a new contract with over 6,000 USWA-represented workers at
        eight plants across the country. Key issues include the
        company's refusal to make capital investments in our plants
        and quality tire production.
