NHRA Summit Racing Series West Central Division Finals - FINAL Results from Heartland Park Topeka

Four new racers heading to California after West Central Summit Series wins
TOPEKA, Kan. - After three days of head-to-head racing action that pitted the top Summit E.T. racers from 20 NHRA West Central Division tracks against one another in four racing categories, four lucky drivers prevailed today, earning the right to represent their home track and division at the Summit Racing Series National Finals at Pomona Raceway in Pomona, California. This year the West Central Division representatives that are westward bound are Mark Ryberg, Jason Novacek, Tim Larson and Dale Detlie.   
Once in California, Ryberg, Novacek, Larson, and Detlie will compete against drivers from each of NHRA's other six geographical divisions for a national championship at the Summit Racing Series National Finals held in conjunction with the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals taking place November 11-14.
	In Super Pro, Brainerd Int'l Raceway's Ryberg of Foley, Minn., took out fellow Minn., runner and Grove Creek Raceway racer Brian Johnson of Burns Township, in the class final. This was the second final round of the weekend for Johnson, who is the reining Summit Racing Series National Champion in Motorcycle. Johnson was also runner-up in the Motorcycle Race of Champions which was held yesterday afternoon. 
	Earning a win for host track Heartland Park Topeka was Pro racer Novacek from Wichita, Kan. In the Pro final, Novacek drove his '64 Barracuda to the win over Rock Falls Raceway runner John Robinson of Elk River, Minn. 
	In Sportsman, Larson of Littleton, Colo., earned a win for Bandimere Speedway when he took out Julesburg Dragstrip's Steve Couch of Sydney, Neb. 
	In Motorcycle, Rock Falls Raceway runner, Detlie of Owatonna, Minn., won over Lake Park, Minn., racer Mark Schiffner after the Interstate Dragways racer red-lighted in the final.
	Taking home the coveted team championship was Brainerd Int'l Raceway.  Over the course of the day, BIR earned a total of 63 points. Finishing second was home team, Heartland Park Topeka, with 56 points. The third place title went to Wichita Int'l Raceway, who earned 49 points overall. 
  	In other NHRA Summit Racing Series West Central Division competition, the High School title was earned by Heartland Park Topeka's Luke Siebert, of Wamego, Kan. Siebert defeated Wichita Raceway runner Jimmy Holzman, of Wichita, Kan. in the final
