RAHMER GETS SEVENTH AND TITLE IN SSP SPRINT CAR ACTION


NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (September 16, 2004) – All Fred  Rahmer had to do Thursday 
evening to clinch his fourth Susquehanna Speedway Park  Sprint Car point title 
was start his heat race.  Instead, Rahmer won every race he  entered to put an 
exclamation point on his championship season.  Rahmer’s win in the 25-lap 410 
Sprint  Car feature was his seventh of the season at SSP, 32nd overall, and  
25th career SSP win. 
In other action, Tom Johns won the Xtreme Enduro  Stock Car feature event, 
while Ronnie Dunstan claimed the Legends Cars feature  win.  Butch Richcreek Jr. 
won the  Spectacular One-on-One Street Car Drags in an exciting one lap 
finale over Ken  Johns. 
Rahmer started sixth in the Sprint Car feature and  caught race-long leader 
Eric Stambaugh in heavy lapped traffic on the  17th lap.  He went on to  record 
the $2,500 win over Stambaugh.  Lance Dewease finished third, with Brian 
Leppo and Cris Eash completing  the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Greg 
Hodnett, Blane Heimbach, Doug  Esh, Kevin Nouse, and Jim Siegel.  Eash set a 
new ten lap track record in winning the first heat race with a  time of 2:29.68. 
 Dewease and Rahmer  were other heat winners. 
Johns chased polesitter Matt Smith for 19 of the 20  laps in the Xtreme 
Enduro Stock Car feature event.  Johns got by Smith on the first turn of  the final 
lap to score the win.  Smith finished second, with David Wilhelm getting 
third in a three car  wide finish for that spot.  Mike  Goodwin and Matt Wampler 
completed the top five.  Heats went to Smith and Wampler.  Alan Miller took the 
Pepsi Challenge  Dash. 
Dunstan moved from fourth to first by the completing  of the second lap in 
the Central PA Legends Cars  feature race.  He then held the lead for the 
remainder  of the 15 lap distance.  Greg Burd,  who led the first lap held second 
place despite a seven car battle for that  spot.  Rod Kistler, Josh Morrow, and  
Randy Kissinger completed the top five.  Heats went to Kistler and Harry 
Garber. 
The final race of the season will be Thursday Night,  September 23 as SSP 
hosts the 410 Sprint Cars along with the Xtreme Enduro Stock  Cars.  Tentatively 
on the schedule  are the Classic Cars and a Ford vs. Chevy Tough Truck 
Tug-O-War.  These will be confirmed on Monday.  Gates open in the pit area at 4:00  
p.m. with the grandstand  gates opening at 5:00 p.m.  Warmups begin at 7:00 
p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30  p.m.  SSP will continue its Repeat 
Fan Discount in which  there will be a $2.00 discount for each person with a 
ticket stub from the  September 16 event only.  For  example, $2.00 off an Adult 
ticket for September 23 with and Adult ticket stub  from the September 16 
event.  Returning fans are encouraged to write  their name, address and phone 
number on the back of the stub to be entered into  a special drawing to be held 
at the end of the season.  The grand prize will be two tickets  to the NASCAR 
race in October at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North  Carolina.  
Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a  reduced price of $18.00 for all track license 
holders.
