Iveco and Delphi Showcase Safety at IAA
Supplier and OEM team up to demonstrate advanced safety
TROY, Mich. and TURIN, Italy, Sept. 15 -- Iveco SpA and Delphi Corp. are teaming up to showcase advanced safety technologies at next week's 60th International Motor Show (IAA) for Commercial Vehicles held in Hanover, Germany.
Iveco and Delphi have outfitted two Iveco trucks with technologies aimed at helping to keep the truck driver, passengers and other roadway users safe. The Iveco Daily and Iveco Stralis will each showcase numerous Iveco and Delphi current, future and concept safety products that help detect, prevent and, if necessary, minimize the impact of an accident.
Some of the products on display during the IAA include headway alert, pre- crash warning, night vision, back-up aid, side alert, lane departure warning and driver state monitoring.
"We are thrilled to be working together to demonstrate how Iveco and Delphi technology can help increase safety," said Jose Maria Alapont, chief executive officer for Iveco SpA.
"The safety of everyone on the road is of great importance to Delphi and Iveco," said Volker J. Barth, vice president of Delphi Corporation and president of Delphi Europe. "Both companies are especially devoted to helping make drivers and motorists safe as they spend dozens of hours on the road each week."
The two trucks will be on display at Iveco's stand (Hall 16, Stand No. A10) during the bi-annual show. Delphi will also have a separate safety display truck at its stand in Hall 17, Stand No. A06. Several of the safety products on the vehicles are operable and show visitors will be able to experience the technologies as if they were on the road.
