Union Leaders to Attend Jaguar Talks

LONDON, September 15 -- Tony Woodley, General Secretary of T&G, and Derek Simpson, General Secretary of Amicus, today confirmed that they will be meeting with senior Ford managers on Friday.

This top level meeting follows mounting speculation in the media regarding the future of the Jaguar plant at Browns Lane in Coventry.

The involvement of the General Secretaries indicates the seriousness that the unions take in securing the future of the plant and its 2,000 jobs.

A full statement by the joint unions will be made when the meeting ends which is expected to be lunchtime.
