Terex Corp. Chooses IFS Business Software to Support Truck Manufacturing Operations

CHICAGO, Sept. 14 -- IFS announced today that Terex Corp. has signed a contract to implement IFS Applications(TM) business software at its Ft. Wayne, Indiana, facility, which jointly houses the manufacturing operations of Terex Advance Mixer, Inc., and American Truck Co. (ATC). Advance Mixer, a Terex subsidiary, produces front- and rear-discharging concrete mixer trucks. ATC, a joint venture of which Terex is a two-thirds owner, produces military trucks.

Both Advance Mixer and ATC will use IFS' full suite of enterprise applications, including manufacturing, distribution, financials, service management, and engineering.

"We are a rapidly growing company. In July, we celebrated the shipment of our ten-thousandth truck," said Dale Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Advance Mixer, Inc. "IFS Applications will help us keep up with growth by giving us improved control over labor and inventory costs. One of the reasons we selected IFS is that IFS Applications has the capability to handle mixed- mode production environments such as ours."

"Terex serves both defense and commercial customers, and has a complex mixed-mode production environment -- the perfect fit for IFS' industrial manufacturing solution," said Michael Nordin, president of IFS North America. "We look forward to helping Advance Mixer and American Truck reduce inventory and production costs, shorten delivery schedules, enhance customer satisfaction, and take advantage of new business opportunities."

Industrial manufacturing is one of IFS' targeted vertical markets. IFS has a broad customer base in the industry, focusing on medium- to large-size manufacturers that need support for complex order-driven and mixed-mode manufacturing across the extended enterprise. With strong support for project management, engineering, constraint-based scheduling, product configuration, and after-sales support, IFS' business solution helps companies improve quality, contain costs, and improve their competitive position in manufacturing industry segments such as machinery, defense, fabricated metal products, and plastic products. Industrial manufacturing companies also benefit from IFS' lifecycle management solution, which goes beyond product lifecycle management (PLM) to provide better integration and management of three critical business areas-products, customers, and resources-throughout their lifecycles.

Existing IFS customers in the industrial manufacturing industry include Deere & Co., Dresser-Rand, Gehl, Star Cutter, Remmele Engineering, and Johnson Pump.
