	FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NHRA SUMMIT RACING SERIES - NORTHWEST DIVISION FINALS

	MISSION RACEWAY PARK, MISSION, BC

	SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2004

NHRA NORTHWEST SUMMIT RACING SERIES TO FINISH MONDAY

	AT MISSION RACEWAY PARK

MISSION, BC - The Summit Racing Series racers in the Northwest
Division will have to wait one more day to find out which of the 18 NHRA
Member Track teams in attendance at the Summit Series Finals will be the
2004 Northwest Division Team Champions. And the 19 drivers remaining in
Super Pro and the even dozen in Pro will likewise be waiting to see who
the 2004 Summit Series Finals Champions are in those categories

Rain early in the day and late evening dew that began sapping
the traction out of the race track forced the continuance of the event
until Monday morning. Racing didn't get underway on Sunday until nearly
2 p.m.

Nonetheless, the Sportsman and Motorcycle/Snowmobile event
titles were settled, as those two somewhat smaller fields were able to
complete eliminations on Sunday as scheduled. Jody Lang, of Puyallup,
Wash., won the Sportsman title and Roger Wolff of Dundee, Ore., won the
Motorcycle/Snowmobile crown.

When the winners in Super Pro and Pro are determined on Monday
the final points tally will determine the team championship as well.

Saturday's action in the Race of Champions, which locks each
track's season champions into competition against each other, determined
the Northwest Division Champions for 2004 and the division's
representatives at the Summit Series showdown for national titles the
NHRA Finals come November in Pomona, Calif.
