TROY, Mich., Sept. 13 -- Delphi Corp. continues its support of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) by serving as a strategic partner at the organization's 26th annual conference and exposition being held this week at the George R. In addition, Delphi will host a keynote luncheon featuring renowned speaker Vernon Jordan, a prominent attorney, civil rights leader, and advisor to government, corporate and labor leaders.

As Delphi continues to grow its global footprint and expand into new markets, this year's conference theme is particularly fitting: "Re-Imagine: Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship; Creating Possibilities for the Future." Nearly 300 of the Fortune 500 companies will be active participants at the annual conference. This year, the NBMBAA -- representing over 100,000 black MBA graduates -- will unveil several new initiatives including an executive career success network, corporate management leadership institute as well as award approximately $500,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate business students.

Rodney O'Neal, president of Delphi's Dynamics, Propulsion, Thermal & Interior Sector will speak on the topic of career success during a workshop on Friday. Ronald Pirtle, Delphi vice president and president, Delphi Thermal & Interior will participate in a Thursday conference panel on "Lessons in Leadership."

"The wealth of talent in attendance, combined with the diversity of business professionals, make this a premier event," said Karen McClain, director, Global Supply Management, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, and Delphi's NBMBAA team leader. "Delphi has developed a strong, working relationship with the NBMBAA during the past several years and our participation has yielded positive results in the form of strong, diverse human capital with a commitment to excellence."

Delphi executives will participate in panel discussions on "women in the workplace" and minority supplier development. Additionally, Delphi leaders have been tapped to serve as facilitators during the Leaders of Tomorrow(SM) program, an initiative designed to expose high school students exhibiting leadership potential to outstanding business professionals who serve as mentors. Delphi executives will also serve as judges of the Student Case Competition, a venue where students demonstrate their knowledge, problem- solving skills, analytical proficiency and presentation abilities to corporate executives judging the groups' analysis of a business case.
