GM Certified Used Vehicles Launches OnStar Promotion

Three-Month Trial Service Available For Customers Purchasing OnStar-Equipped GM Certified Used Vehicles

DETROIT September 8, 2004; GM Certified Used Vehicles, the number-one selling manufacturer-certified used vehicle brand*, today announced a special promotion that will provide three months of OnStar Safe and Sound service for customers who purchase OnStar-equipped GM Certified Used Vehicles between August 1, 2004, and January 31, 2005.

Customers purchasing GM Certified Used Vehicles enabled for OnStar Personal Calling also will receive 30 personal calling minutes for the in-vehicle, hands-free phone, good for 60 days from the date of OnStar service activation. Enrollment for this special three-month OnStar subscription must be completed by January 31, 2005. A $19.95 OnStar activation fee and valid credit card are required. The activation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, but will be waived if the customer purchases a one-year OnStar subscription.

OnStar's automatic airbag deployment notification system is a key component to GM's leadership commitment to providing safety protection before, during and after a collision. If an airbag deploys, OnStar-equipped vehicles will send a signal to an OnStar Advisor, who contacts the vehicle's occupants to see if assistance is needed. If there is no response, the OnStar Advisor contacts a nearby emergency services provider to request emergency assistance. OnStar subscribers also can press the red OnStar emergency button any time emergency assistance is needed. Other OnStar services include locating stolen vehicles, remotely unlocking doors, and arranging for roadside assistance.
