Stremme, Team TRIMSPA Eager to Top Spring Richmond Performance
 
Richmond, VA (September 8, 2004) – David Stremme and Team TRIMSPA had to 
start from scratch preparing for this weekend’s Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond 
International Raceway. After a wreck and a disappointing 35th-place finish in 
their last trip to Richmond, Team TRIMSPA identified it as a track where they 
needed to improve.
 
“We got tangled up with another car and wrecked the TRIMSPA Dodge pretty hard 
in our last race at Richmond,” said Stremme. “The damage to that chassis was 
terminal, so we are bringing a different car to the race this weekend. When I 
look back on this year’s season there are only three races where we showed up 
and were off the mark, Richmond, California, and Texas. This weekend’s race 
is the last chance we have to improve on one of those runs. We were fast but 
not lucky last weekend on our second trip to California.  This weekend we need 
to be fast and lucky.”
 
In order to best prepare for this weekend’s race, crew chief Randy Cox called 
for a two day test session at Richmond just prior to the race in Bristol two 
weeks ago. At the track Team TRIMSPA worked on the best setup for chassis 
BR018, their primary car this weekend. BR018 broke the track qualifying record at 
The Milwaukee Mile and finished second there earlier this season.
 
“We should be strong this weekend,” said Stremme. “Last time we went to 
Richmond we were still in the middle of a crew chief change. Randy (Cox) and I did 
not have any of our own notes to go off of. We made a lot of progress in our 
two-day test session there last week. Richmond is a track I am very 
comfortable at. But I just have not had much luck there. Hopefully this weekend we can 
turn it around.”
 
Stremme and Team TRIMSPA will take to the track compete in the Emerson Radio 
250 at Richmond International Raceway this Friday, September 10. The event 
will be televised live at 8 p.m. eastern time on TNT and will broadcast 
nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with Motor Racing Network 
(MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
