Altair Engineering's Optimization Technology Conference 2004 to Address Product Robustness, Performance and Quality
TROY, Mich.--Sept. 7, 2004--On Thursday, September 23, Altair Engineering, in sponsorship with HP, will hold its 2nd Annual Optimization Technology Conference at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy, Mich. The event will bring together executive managers, engineering managers and product design engineers interested in learning how structural optimization techniques and CAE based design methods can effectively be applied to product development. The conference is free and open to Altair and HP customers, engineering professionals and product manufacturers. Presentations by clients and distinguished thought leaders will highlight real-world applications of technology and detail the significance of optimization methods in simulation-based product design and development.
"Optimization methods, having moved into the mainstream of product design engineering, are now emerging as key enablers for product innovation," according to Jeff Brennan, vice president of Commercial Software at Altair. "Increased capability, ease-of-use and industry wide recognition of the financial and competitive impact of optimization tools is allowing manufacturers to make a competitive difference in their products and processes," Brennan adds.
This year's conference will discuss current optimization technology trends and will deliver insightful applications of optimization in the automotive, aerospace and advanced materials industries by recognized thought leaders representing Opel, Altair Engineering, American Axle & Manufacturing, ArvinMeritor, BASF, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), HP, T2 Technologies and The Oakwood Group. A review of last year's conference is available online at www.altair.com/OTC2004.
"The cooperation between the Altair and HP development teams has resulted in tailored high performance technical computing solutions for the optimization community," says Jeff Wall, HP Global CAE Alliance Manager. "OTC04 provides a focused and comprehensive venue to learn how to take advantage of optimization technology and high-end computing solutions sets for Itanium, PA-RISC, Opteron and Xeon based architectures as well as Linux and HP-UX operating environments," Wall adds.
