Tyler Brown - Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Presented by Toronto Star Wheels - Round 5 post race

September 3, 2004

Top 5 for Brown in Rotax at Mosport
Fatigue doesn't hinder Waterdown's karters consistency

MOSPORT, ONTARIO - Chilliwack, BC to Mosport in four days, not impossible,
but difficult. That was the long haul facing 4B Racing's Brown family after
competing in the ASN Canada FIA Canadian Nationals a week ago, then heading
straight to Mosport for round five of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting
Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels last weekend.

"My Dad has only slept about four hours each night to get us here for the
round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship". Brown commented
after arriving in the team's motorhome. "We need to do well here for us to
rebound from a dismal showing last month at Sutton," Brown added. Brown
had no intention of letting the three hour time change, nor the 50 plus
hours spent traveling in the teams motorhome slow him down.

"We were ready to go on Friday morning, but the rain came ending practice,
so we would rely on notes from the previous event to set up the karts,"
Brown said. 4B Racing's Rotax engine was back in the hands of SRA Karting,
who was trying to find source of the problem encountered at the Nationals.
A rented Rotax engine and wet weather kept the whole team hopping on
Saturday for the Rotax race. "We struggled all day with the changing track
and the chassis. By the final, we had it dialed in," Team principal
Darrell Brown said. Brown would finish Rotax Junior in 4th place, which
will give him a boost in the season points.

Sunday in Canada Junior, qualifying took place in two groups, and heavy
rain. Tyler's five minute session would put the whole second group slower
than the first qualifying group. The pre-final would be run in the rain and
after the conclusion Tyler came in and wanted dramatic chassis changes.
After discussing the changes, Brown moved up to sixth in the final.

"We are extremely happy with the results this weekend. We knew we needed a
solid performance and everybody despite the fatigue we are all
feeling worked together to get this done. Now, all we want to do is go
home and rest for a bit and gear up for the final race of the series at
Innisfill in September," Brown said.
