RAIN SETS FIELD, AGAIN, FOR ASA NATIONAL TOUR JANI-KING MINNESOTA 300

ELKO, Minn. (September 5, 2004) - For the second week in a row, the ASA National Tour cars had enough
time to practice, but as they lined up to start the qualifying session the rain came in and the field was set by
current owner points.

Like last week, Kevin Cywinski will start from the pole for tomorrow's Jani-King Minnesota 300 presented by
Polaris. Mike Garvey will line-up on the outside as he currently sits second in the point standings.

With 38 cars at the Elko (Minn.) Speedway, the rain was most unwelcome for those relying on a qualifying run
to get into the starting lineup. The drivers heading home early are Dan Frederickson, Paul Paine, Jacob
Dolhun, Jason Setser, Blake Bjorklund and Donny Reuvers.

The Jani-King Minnesota 300 presented by Polaris will take the green flag at 2 p.m. CDT and will be broadcast
live on www.asaracing.com. The event continues an ASA tradition of racing in Minnesota on Labor Day which
dates back to 1978.

The American Speed Association is based in Pendleton, Ind., and has offered stock car racing programs since
1968, including the ASA National Tour, ASA Late Model Series, several regional touring series and the ASA
Member Track programs. For additional information, visit asaracing.com.
