Super Sportsman at SSP on Sunday


Credit  Connection / Trail Motors Super Sportsman Tour Night Returns to SSP 
on  Sunday 
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (September 4,  2004)  – This Sunday night, September 5, SSP 
will host the return of the Super  Sportsman Tour to SSP for Credit Connection 
/ Trail Motors Night at the  Races.  Also in action will be the  Silver 
Springs Street Stocks paying  $500-to-win and double features for the PA Four 
Cylinders.  The Street Stocks feature is sponsored by Miller’s Racing Parts.   Pat 
Cannon won the only Sportsman event  at SSP held earlier in the year. 
Gates open in the pit area at 4:00  p.m. with the grandstand  gates opening 
at 5:00 p.m.  Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30 
 p.m.  Grandstand ticket  prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens 
(13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12)  $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free.  SSP will 
continue its Repeat Fan  Discount in which there will be a $2.00 discount on 
general admission for  each person with a ticket stub from the September 2 
event or any ticket  stub from a Silver Springs Speedway  event.  For example, 
$2.00 off an Adult ticket  for September 5 with and Adult ticket stub from the 
September 2 event or Silver  Springs ticket stub. Pit pass prices are  $20.00.  
The raindate will be  announced if needed.                                     
  

The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32,  then 1.4 miles 
NW on SR382 to York  Road, then 1.3 miles south.  For  more information,

SSP  News and Notes: 
- On Thursday Night, September 9,  there will be a $1,000 bounty (along with 
the $2,500 first prize) going to any  driver that can win the 410 Sprint Car 
feature event other than Fred  Rahmer.  However, in order to  collect the 
bounty, Rahmer must finish the race.  Due to the handicap system in effect,  the 
best Rahmer can start is 11th or 12th.  Rahmer has won six feature events during 
 the season and the last four straight at SSP. 
- An aggressive 2005 racing  schedule is in the planning stages with a wide 
variety of divisions and great  racing action.  Weekly Thursday  night racing 
will continue in 2005 with the 410 Sprint Cars, Xtreme Enduro Stock  Cars and 
one other class or novelty act per night.  The 358/360 Sprint Car Open 
Challenge  events will continue on nights when the 410 Sprint Cars are scheduled off.  
There will also be eight Sportsman Tour  Races scheduled for every other 
Sunday beginning on June 5 and ending on  September 4.  Other notable dates  
include four Great American School Bus Races to be announced and PA Speedweeks  on 
Thursday, June 30.  A mid-summer  break from racing action is also tentatively 
planned from July 4 through July  16.  More exciting and prestigious  events 
will be announced in the near future. 
- The post season  awards for the 2004 SSP 410 Sprint Car Points Championship 
will be three (3)  2005 Season Pit Passes for the championship team (Value = 
$1,500).  Drivers finishing second through fifth  will receive two (2) 2005 
Season Pit Passes (Value = $1,000 per team).  Drivers finishing sixth through 
tenth  will receive one (1) 2005 Season Pit Pass (Value = $500 per team).   The 
complimentary driver’s pit  pass for all licensed members will also be in 
effect again for 2005.  The post season awards for the 2004 SSP  Xtreme Stock Car 
Points Championship will be two (2) 2005 Season Pit Passes for  the 
championship team (Value = $1,000).  Drivers finishing second through fifth will receive 
one (1) 2005 Season  Pit Passes (Value = $500 per team).   The complimentary 
driver’s pit pass for all licensed members will also be  in effect again for 
2005.

Time is a  factor!  All cars must report to the  grid area on time for their
