GoPed(R) Scooter Manufacturer Files Major Lawsuit Against Delaware Corp.

MINDEN, Nev., Sept. 3 -- Patmont Motor Works, Inc., a Minden based manufacturing company of small motorized scooters, filed a major lawsuit against CSK Auto Parts , the New York Stock Exchange listed company that owns Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply, and Kragen Auto Parts. The suit was filed by Senator William J. Raggio of Reno, Nevada and William D. McCann, general counsel for Patmont.

In the suit, Patmont alleges that CSK sold motorized scooters made in China, which infringe on the trademarks and copyrights of Patmont Motor Werks. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

"We hope this suit will serve to protect hardworking American families from calculated theft of intellectual property rights through importation and distribution of low cost imitation products," said Steve Patmont founder and CEO of PMW, Inc.

Last March, Patmont motor Werks, Inc., the Nevada-based manufacturer of GoPed(R) motorized scooters, which are protected by numerous patents, trademarks, and copyrights, had filed a federal suit charging the Chinese Government and an association of Chinese companies with Unfair Trade Practices and Conspiracy to Restrain Trade under the Anti-trust laws. On July 16, Federal District Judge Howard McKibben issued a broad Injunction prohibiting the importation of infringing gas and electric motorized scooters from China, Taiwan, and Korea.
