BorgWarner Names Jamal Farhat Chief Information Officer

TROY, Mich., Sept. 1 -- BorgWarner Inc. has named Jamal Farhat to the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Farhat is responsible for overseeing all information technology activities of the company, reporting to Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer Robin Adams.

Before joining BorgWarner, Farhat, 45, was chief information officer and head of supply chain management at LDM Technologies, an automotive plastics manufacturer. Prior to that, he served as director of information technology at Lucas Varity, a senior consultant at Perot Systems and project manager for General Motors at EDS.

Farhat earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. He lives in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
