The undefeated get defeated!
Vincec, Champagne and Labbe put an end to all undefeated streaks

MOSPORT, ONTARIO – With just two rounds left of the Sunoco Ron Fellows
Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels, three drivers –
Daniel Morad, Pearce Herder and Marco Di Leo – were looking to keep their
undefeated seasons in tact at Mosport, site of round 5 of the series. By
Sunday afternoon, there were no undefeated drivers left.

“This shows just how competitive this series is,” Daniel Morad, one of the
unseated drivers said. Stouffville’s Micheal Vincec was the dominant Junior
driver in round five, as he not only stopped Morad’s streak in Formula
Junior, he also won the Rotax Max Junior race. Quebec’s Alex Labbe also
played spoiler, as he stopped the winning streak of Pearce Herder in Canada
Junior Heavy. The final undefeated streak belonged to Marco Di Leo, in
Rotax Max Senior, and Matt Champagne handed Di Leo his first defeat of the
season. Champagne opted for dry tires on the drying, but wet track and he
simply motored off into the distance, lapping up to 8th spot.

Other junior class winners were Cory Luciano led Canada Junior Light, and
Kevin Monteith clean swept his second straight World Formula Junior
race. In the Senior ranks, Mike Roth clean swept the Formula Senior class,
which kept him atop the points standings going into the final round.
Adriano Bilotta won World Formula Senior, while Jennifer Rempel won Canada
Senior Heavy, and Rob Oakman won Canada Senior Light.

The Pratt & Miller Team Spirit Award, which awards teams that are judged to
exhibit the highest levels of teamwork in the areas of presentation,
preparation and results. The award this round went to the Gold Kart Team of
Lon Herder. The Gold Team has worked hard on the appearance of their karts
and drivers this year, and now it has paid off with this coveted team award.

The GM Racing Winner’s Circle Award, which goes to a driver judged to have
displayed outstanding competition skills and sportsmanship, was awarded to
Leamington’s Jennifer Rempel, who had problems in the Canada Senior Heavy
pre-final that sent her to the back of the grid for the final. Rempel put
on a great drive to win the final.

The objective of the the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Presented
by Toronto Star Wheels is to help foster a professional environment for
kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct
