Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels - Junior class wrap up

Vincec does the double at Mosport!
Vincec, Monteith, Labbe and Luciano lead Juniors at Mosport

MOSPORT, ONTARIO – Stouffville’s Micheal Vincec was the dominant force at 
round five of the Junior portion of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting 
Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels this weekend at Mosport. 
Vincec won Rotax Max Jr and then halted the undefeated season of Daniel 
Morad in Formula Junior. Quebec Alex Labbe also played spoiler, as he 
stopped the winning streak of Pearce Herder in Canada Junior Heavy. Cory 
Luciano led Canada Junior Light, while Kevin Monteith won his second 
straight World Formula Junior race.

Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Daniel Morad, Markham, 
Ontario
Morad took his fourth pole of the year and turned that into a pre-final win 
ahead of Stouffville’s Micheal Vincec. King City’s Richard Boake was third. 
In the final, Morad led until the last few laps, until Vincec passed him 
for the win. Third in the final was Bradford’s Curtis Fox.

Canada Junior Light – Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Joshua Gilbert, 
London Ontario
Gilbert’s pole positon was short lived as he completed only three laps of 
the pre-final. Second place qualifier Cory Luciano from Ajax took the win 
over Wesley Schindel from Delaware and Maple’s Jon Michael Ostella. In the 
final, Luciano again drove to victory ahead of Coldwater’s Mitchell Casey, 
who came from sixth on the grid and Schindel.

Canada Junior Heavy – Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier, Brad Forbes, 
Kingston Ontario
Ottawa’s Justin Holtom took the pre-final win over Maple’s Michael Iamundi 
and Stouffville’s Pearce Herder. In the final, Victoriaville’s Qc’s Alex 
Labbe took the win – halting the undefeated streak of Herder. Kingston’s 
Brad Forbes was second and Tottenham’s Michael Glaze.

RotaxMax Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Michael Vincec, 
Stouffville, Ontario
In Rotax Max Junior, Vincec led the way with a clean sweep – pole, 
pre-final and final win. Behind Vincec in both the pre-final and final came 
Markham’s Evan Hayden and Stouffville’s Pearce Herder.

World Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Kevin Monteith, 
Stouffville, Ontario.
Monteith was able to capitalize on his pole position to take a clean sweep 
of the pre-final and final for the second time in a row.  Melissa Curran 
from Hamilton took second in the prefinal before having problems in the 
final. In the final, William Keatings was second. Burlington’s Matt Jackson 
took third in both races.

The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for 
kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct 
and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the 
safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the 
racing ladder to automobile racing.
