XM'S HERTA LEAVES NAZARETH WITH EIGHT-PLACE FINISH

        NAZARETH, Pa. (Aug. 29, 2004) - XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta drove a
competitive race to record an eighth-place finish in the Firestone Indy 225 Sunday. The 100th event
in Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series history was also the final race at Nazareth Speedway.
        Herta, who began the race from the inside of the fourth row, battled an understeer condition
from the early portion of the race. After losing two spots on the opening lap, Herta's
XM Satellite Radio team made an adjustment to the machine under a caution-flag pit stop on lap
63. Following the stop, Herta's car was running laps that were consistent with the lead machines.
He made his final jump to the eighth position on lap 103, where he stayed for the remainder of the
event.
        Herta's finish was his ninth top-10 result of the 2004 season and his fifth consecutive top-
10. He is currently 10th in the IndyCar Series points championship with 295 points. He trails ninth-
place Darren Manning by only one point and finds himself only 18 points from the sixth position.
        Herta's finish climaxed a successful day for Andretti Green Racing, as the team placed all
four drivers in the top 10 for the fourth time on the season. Klein Tools/Jim Beam driver Dan
Wheldon picked up his third victory of the season, holding off teammates Tony Kanaan and Dario
Franchitti, who charted the second and third positions, respectively. Buddy Rice, who fell to third in
the IndyCar Series points race behind Kanaan and Wheldon, finished fourth and Helio
Castroneves was fifth.
        The win marks Andretti Green Racing's eighth victory in 13 races on the year, including its
second in a row. Wheldon and Kanaan each have three victories while Franchitti has two.
        Next up for the IndyCar Series will be the Delphi Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway - the
14th race of the 2004 IndyCar Series schedule - Sunday, Sept. 12. ABC Sports will provide
coverage of the event beginning at 1:30 p.m. (EDT).

        "First and foremost, this was just an awesome day for Andretti Green Racing; top-three,
Michael Andretti's hometown and the last race at Nazareth, so I'm really happy for the team and
the other three guys. We just never really got the track position today. The XM Satellite Radio car
was as good as the other three; we just never really got the track position or the breaks in traffic.
We're chomping at the bit and I know someday the dam is going to break for us."
