Honda's President and CEO to Discuss Investing in America at the Detroit Economic Club

DETROIT, Aug. 23, 2004 -- Takeo Fukui, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., will speak to Detroit Economic Club (DEC) members and guests on Tuesday, September 7, 2004. The event will be held at Cobo Center, located in Downtown Detroit, and will run from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mr. Fukui's speech is titled: "Investing in America: 25 Years of New Challenges."

Takeo Fukui became the sixth president of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in June 2003. Fukui's more than 33-year career with Honda has included positions as President of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. and head of Honda's global motor-sports activities, and President of Honda of America Mfg., Inc., (HAM) in Marysville, Ohio in the mid-'90s. Fukui also has served on Honda Motor Co.'s board of directors since June 1988.

Tickets for the event are $30 for members and spouses, and $45 for non- members. Full tables of 10 may also be reserved.

The DEC was established in 1934, and is recognized worldwide for its contribution to the discussion and promotion of economic, political and social issues. The club has nearly 2,000 members and is recognized as one of the premier economic forums in the United States.
