'05 Mustang Debuts in Twin Cities With an Entourage of Local Fans

WHAT: The 2005 Mustang, with its stunning back-to-the-future design, makes its Twin Cities debut before more than 100 of its most enthusiastic local fans and their classic Mustangs, and the members of the general public. The general public is invited to get an up-close-and-personal look at the newest incarnation of the American icon and join us for a free picnic dinner. The '05 Mustang, true to its roots, is "fast" (300 hp in the GT version), "fun" (ride, Sally, ride) and "affordable" (the V-6 model starts under $20,000). It goes on sale this fall.

  WHEN & WHERE:
  -- Tuesday, August 24, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
-- Midway Stadium parking lot, 1171 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul.

SUMMARY: The '05 Mustang is barnstorming the country with the fervor of a rock 'n' roll tour, drawing huge numbers of fans. In Minneapolis-St. Paul alone, there are four official Mustang clubs. Its design is creating the most excitement, a mix of futurism and hues of its rich 40-year past, particularly the 1968 fastback Steve McQueen/"Bullitt" model. It's been featured in more than 500 films and has been the subject of countless pop songs, including the legendary "Mustang Sally."
