The Newark Group Experiences New Supply Chain Efficiencies Using the Nistevo Network for Transportation Management

MINNEAPOLIS--Aug. 2, 20043, 2004--

Network Provides Better Transportation Asset Utilization and Visibility Across 40 Paper Plants and Mills

Nistevo Corp., the leading Collaborative Logistics Network(SM) for transportation management, announced today that The Newark Group, the world's leading manufacturer and converter of recycled paperboard, is experiencing new transportation efficiencies company-wide and cost savings through its deployment of the Nistevo Network. By using Nistevo to manage its shipments from more than 40 mills and plants, Newark is experiencing cross-company visibility of all flatbed and dry van shipments in-transit, and is better leveraging more cost-effective capacity.

Today, Newark is managing all of its truckload freight, representing more than 70 percent of overall shipments, in the Nistevo Network and has all core carriers connected to the system. Using the Nistevo Network, Newark has gained further efficiencies by identifying opportunities for continuous and roundtrip moves, tracking shipments in transit and reporting on overall performance.

"Using the Nistevo Network across our organization has delivered new cost savings while improving our customer service," said Frank Provost, corporate traffic manager at Newark. "Our logistics and customer service professionals now have online tracking capabilities for in-transit orders and shipments, and can be proactively alerted to any delays. With better visibility to our shipments and carriers, we are also finding new ways to find and leverage capacity that meets our timetables and is cost-effective. We are very pleased with the Nistevo Network as it has automated many of our processes, thus enabling our organization to manage more by exception and focus staff on more strategic activities."

"We are pleased that The Newark Group is experiencing new efficiencies across its numerous flatbed and dry van shipments," said Kevin Lynch, president and chief executive officer of Nistevo. "The benefits of a transportation management network, including cross-company visibility and rapid carrier connectivity, were important to Newark when they selected Nistevo as their solution. Their experience confirms that the Network is equipped to meet the needs of logistics departments today, and we aim to expand its capabilities to add even more value to their operations in the future."
