Transplace Appoints Roy Cashman CTO and Vincent Chiodo Vice President of Sales

Transportation Veterans Each Bring 25+ Years Industry Experience to Burgeoning, Elite 3PL

PLANO, Texas, Aug. 23 -- Transplace, Inc., a logistics technology and transportation management services provider, today announced that Roy Cashman has joined the company as chief technology officer (CTO) and that Vincent Chiodo has joined the sales team as vice president and will report to Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing George Abernathy. The moves follow other key senior executive hires made over the past nine months and further strengthen the Transplace management team as the company positions itself for the next technology-driven phase of growth in the logistics services market.

Cashman brings more than 25 years of experience in transportation and IT management. Throughout his distinguished career, he has been responsible for broad IT management, with a particular emphasis on business applications development.

Since November of 2001, Cashman has served as CIO and senior vice president for Ruan Transportation Management Systems, where he was responsible for designing and engineering logistics services for customers. While at Ruan Transportation, he successfully created and executed a 3-year strategy for IT architecture and transportation applications. Prior to his tenure at Ruan Transportation, Cashman was senior vice president of applications development for Information Resources Inc., a leading research partner for the global consumer goods industry. He has also served as vice president of Information Technology for US Freightways, Inc.

As CTO for Transplace, Cashman will be focused on the continued development of the company's Dense Network Efficiency(R) (DNE) platform, a proprietary, Web-based environment that enables collaboration between shippers and carriers and features optimization technology to identify transportation synergies that help lower cost and improve service. Transplace processes more than 7 million transactions annually via the DNE platform.

Chiodo has more than 25 years of sales and management experience with logistics and supply chain companies. He was most recently senior director of major accounts with Meridian IQ, where he was the top sales leader in delivering results and instrumental in the growth of Meridian IQ over the past few years. Chiodo has also held senior sales and management positions with Clicklogistics, ShipLogix,CHEP Americas, and North American Van Lines.
